Honors Chapter notes
We need to think on how to "do history" compare, synthesize, so we need to create questions based in that approach. How to create questions:
- Big Picture: looking at the overall, big idea or picture (how did the Germans gain control over a large in short time?)
- Comparison (compare the spread of the Christianity to the spread of the Judaism)
- Cultural Diffusion is the spread of cultural beliefs and social activities from one group to another. The mixing of world cultures through different ethnicities, religions and nationalities has increased with advanced communication, transportation and technology. (French influence over Vietnamese cuisine)
- Syncretism: the mixing of ideas and makes something new (Christianity merges with Aztec beliefs, parading of saints (used to mummification of king and paraded during Aztec time, the parade of saints became prevalent after 1492)
- Common Phenomena -two or more places in the world that have similar movements but no interaction. (example: Mexican Revolution and the Russian Revolution)
- Independent invention vs diffusion
